Forklift Operator 2nd Shift - Press Department

Primary Role

Keep the press running by safely delivering the RIGHT material at the RIGHT time.

Core Responsibilities Material Flow

• Deliver coils, sheets, and blanks to correct press
• Remove finished goods & scrap bins
• Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out)
• Prevent line stoppages

Core Responsibilities Coil Handling

• Move coils safely (use proper attachments)
• Verify: Coil ID, Heat number, Thickness / Grade
• Check for damage (dents, rust, broken bands)

Material Accuracy

- RIGHT material ? RIGHT press - NO mix-ups (grade, thickness, finish) - Double-check labels before staging

Inventory Control

- Scan or track materials - Keep staging & storage areas organized - Report shortages or mismatches immediately

Safety First Zero Exceptions

- Perform daily forklift inspection - Drive controlled in high-traffic areas - Keep loads low, stable, and secure - Sound horn at intersections - Coils are extremely heavy use proper attachments - Wear PPE: steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves

Quality Expectations

- No damaged material during transport - No mixed materials at press - Report defects immediately

Success Metrics

- Zero safety incidents - No press downtime due to material - Accurate material delivery - Clean & organized area (5S)

- Keep aisles clear - Store coils in designated areas - Maintain clean workspace
