Hennepin Healthcare has a large psychiatric program, home care and hospice, and operates a research institute, innovation center and philanthropic foundation.Department: Respiratory CareFTE: CasualWorkdays: Monday - Friday and every other weekendShift(s): Days/EveningShift Length: 8 hoursLocation: In-PersonOther: No benefitsPerforms basic respiratory care procedures under supervision of Respiratory Therapist or Senior Respiratory Therapist.Assists members of the treatment team in specialized care of patients; may check ordersPerforms treatments including bronchodilator therapy, sputum induction and suctioning in non-critical care areasPerforms bedside spirometryInitiates or operates certain oxygen and aerosol delivery systemsInitiates non-invasive ventilator support like CPAP and BiPAP in non-critical care areasDraws arterial blood gas samplesObserves and reports the development of signs and symptoms indicative of problemsFollows patients for specific problems and evaluates progress being made as well as evaluates patient's follow-through of treatment planRecords actions and observations on patient chart, prepares and maintains medical recordsCleans, sets up, and delivers equipment for use to patient care areasRepairs and maintains equipmentInstructs new personnel in job duties and responsibilitiesPerforms related work as required, but only when trained to do soMinimum Qualifications:Currently enrolled or a recent graduate of an American Medical Association approved respiratory care programSix months of approved experience in the care of patients appropriate to the area of specialization (Clinical rotation as part of respiratory care program is acceptable) OR an approved, equivalent combination of training and experienceYou've made the right choice in considering Hennepin Healthcare for your employment.
