CNC Lathe Machinist

Join our team as a CNC Lathe Machinist where you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes in a dynamic job shop environment. You will manage tooling, adjust speeds and feeds, perform program edits and offsets, and handle changeovers and fixtures. Additionally, you will conduct first piece inspections and measure parts using precision tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes in a job shop environment.
• Manage tooling, adjust speeds and feeds, and perform program edits and offsets.
• Conduct first piece inspections and measure parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and zolars.
• Operate a variety of machines including mills, lathes, and mill turns from 3-axis to 5-axis.
• Cross-train on a variety of machinery.
• Read and edit G&M codes as necessary.
• Interpret blueprints and ensure parts meet specifications.
• Adapt to varying run times and engage in diverse daily tasks.

Essential Skills

• Experience setting up CNC machines.
• Proficient use of measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Ability to adjust speeds, feeds, offsets, and changeovers.
• Experience with 3-axis machines or greater.
• High School diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of CNC, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting.
• Skills in machine operation and CNC machining.
• Familiarity with GM Code and programming.
• Experience with Mazak, CAD/CAM, and CNC mill equipment.

Work Environment

Work the 3rd shift from 11pm to 7:30am, Sunday through Thursday, in a state-of-the-art facility designed for comfort and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
