Description: Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper calibration before any patient study. Inject patients with radioactive material as per the physician's order following the prescribed protocol. Observe all department documentation policies by completing all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents, as well as reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies. Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follow radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principles. Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation. Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. Receive radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt according to policy and procedure. Verify activity level of the dose prior to administration. Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
