Bonus Amount $15,000 Overview Department: Progressive Care Unit Shifts Available: Nights Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 12‑hour 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (rates $4–$8 shift differential) Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, AL We are seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse or PCU RN who will provide specialized care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical conditions requiring close monitoring, intervention, and support to optimize outcomes and facilitate transition to lower levels of care. Responsibilities Conduct assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, respiratory status, and overall clinical stability; monitor changes and respond promptly to any deterioration. Utilize telemetry and other monitoring devices to continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure, and other parameters; recognize and interpret abnormalities in monitoring data. Administer medications as directed by physicians, including intravenous medications, antibiotics, pain management medications, and cardiac medications, while vigilantly monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or side effects. Perform nursing interventions and treatments as ordered by physicians, such as wound care, catheter care, suctioning, and administration of oxygen therapy, which may include assisting with procedures. Adhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, hospital policies, and protocols related to patient care, infection control, and safety. Qualifications Deal‑breakers: You must have: Current and valid state RN License. Current BLS certificate upon hire and ongoing maintenance. Additional qualifications that are a plus: Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and ongoing maintenance. Previous acute care hospital experience. Ventilator management experience.
