Campus Aide

Job Details Location: PUC Nueva Esperanza Charter Academy - San Fernando, CA 91340 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $19.00 - $26.74 per hour Job Shift: 10 months (regular hours) Category: Classified - Support Roles Responsibilities The Campus Aide will supervise students during non‑classroom activities and ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment. Key duties include: Enforce activity and safety rules in school buildings and on school property. Report serious safety and behavioral issues to the principal or designated certificated employee. Collaborate with school staff to address behavioral problems during supervision periods. Assume additional responsibilities in inclement weather as assigned. Perform scheduled restroom checks in accordance with PUC Schools’ restroom policy. Maintain continuous movement throughout the school—including eating areas, bathrooms, playground, and other assigned spaces. Walk and stand for at least one hour at a time during shifts. Carry out cleaning duties of school grounds and other areas to keep campus trash‑free. Set up and tear down meal distribution area, as well as other school events such as graduations, dances, and functions. Support custodial duties, including wiping tables and benches and general housekeeping tasks. Maintain a standard of courtesy and appropriate behavior among students. Encourage students in games and activities. Collaborate effectively with school personnel, community representatives, parents, and students. Understand and follow oral and written directions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid First Aid Certificate issued by the Red Cross preferred. CPR certification preferred (training will be provided if needed). Previous experience working with youth. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work. Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality. Flexibility and team‑oriented mindset; able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Physical Demands The role requires occasional kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulder level, lifting up to 30 pounds, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, pulling, and staying within safe limits. Appropriate safety equipment must be worn as needed.
