Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized perioperative nursing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to facilitate patient recovery following surgical procedures. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper assessment during the immediate postoperative phase.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patient vital signs and recovery status continuously.
• Administer prescribed medications and interventions to manage pain and nausea.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to coordinate patient care and discharge plans.
• Document patient responses, observations, and interventions accurately.
• Educate patients and families on postoperative care instructions.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN licensure in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
• Proven experience in PACU or perioperative nursing preferred.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 12-hour shift environment.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Ability to lift and position patients safely as needed.
