Associate Director, Deputy to the BSA AML Officer, RBC Capital Markets, LLC & RBC Wealth Management - U.S. Financial Crimes

Job DescriptionWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?The Deputy BSA officer will play a critical role in strengthening the firm’s AML Program, managing regulatory risk, and supporting the firm’s broader compliance objectives. The role offers invaluable experience in the unique components of AML Program administration, along with exposure to senior leadership, regulatory relations, and key business partners. The Deputy BSA Officer will have the ability to influence strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement across a complex organization.WHAT WILL YOU DO?Actively support the BSA AML Officer with requests related to Audit & Regulator engagement, Risk Assessment, RCSA, Regulatory Change Management, and other components of AML Program governanceLead in drafting AML Program update reports and presenting to senior financial crimes management (i.e. metrics, analysis on trends, issue management etc.) and other reporting as applicable (i.e. regulatory) with oversight from the BSA OfficerEnsure that US AML regulatory obligations (BSA/USA PATRIOT Act/AML Act and updates to the CDD Rule) are metDeliver tailored AML training to the business and infrastructure groups as needed, update training materials, and oversee the completion status of Financial Crimes required trainingProvide ongoing supervision, guidance, and approval of Suspicious Activity Report filings for the broker dealer with FinCEN and ensuring proper risk mitigationAssist with the development and updates to Financial Crimes related policies and procedures on at least an annual basisAct as subject matter expert with respect to Financial Crimes requirements including handling AML inquiries from the front and back office and infrastructure groupsWHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Must have:Undergraduate degree coupled with Extensive knowledge of risk management and anti-money laundering related requirements including BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, FCPA and other applicable U.S. regulationsDemonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project..Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.A strong understanding of financial services and retail wealth management industry.Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.Nice-to-have: Strong ability to apply regulatory requirements to development of risk-based, reasonable AML, Economic Sanctions and ABAC to relevant business models, as well as diversified products;Understanding of relevant emerging risks preferred (e.g. cryptocurrency)In-depth knowledge of securities brokerage products, their trade cycles, settlement flows, and their use in Financial Crimes undefinedWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
