Plant Supervisor - Electrical Maintenance Location: CASTLE DALE, UT, US, 84513. Company: PacifiCorp. General Purpose This position provides functional oversight of a location or segment of a larger department. Under the direction of management, the supervisor implements business objectives, strategies, and plans, and oversees daily work functions and supports company programs and policies. Responsibilities Plan and manage the work of the functional group. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by observing safety and security procedures and reporting/correcting potentially unsafe conditions as outlined in the PacifiCorp Accident Prevention Manual. Under direction of management, ensure employees are accountable to work safely and productively. Oversee represented employees within the guidelines of the applicable working agreement. Oversee daily maintenance activities in the assigned area of a plant, in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures and guidelines. Implement business objectives, strategies and plans. Establish, monitor and control costs. Ensure the timely and reliable maintenance of the plant facility. Build and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments, including Administration, Engineering and Operations. Perform project management responsibilities on unit outages, major overhauls and other projects as assigned. Prepare Scope of Work documents necessary to obtain firm pricing for contractor work. Lead the functional team; direct day-to-day activities and provide guidance and recommendations. Provide input into team employee performance reviews and flag performance and personnel issues for people manager resolution. Requirements Equivalent combination of journeymen electrician level experience and education or a bachelor’s degree in an applicable field. Minimum of five years of electrical maintenance experience in a power plant or similar industrial facility. Flexibility and availability to respond to after-hour emergencies. Commitment to manage projects or assignments through completion. Ability to use computer applications for written communication, planning, budgeting and project scheduling. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate expectations, coach employees, provide feedback and work collaboratively with other departments. Leadership and teamwork skills to develop and promote cooperative working relationships within the crew and across departments. Ability to make timely decisions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers. Basic computer skills, including e‑mail and word processing. Preferences Supervisory skills and ability to implement action plans for achieving objectives and manage daily operations toward long-term objectives. Knowledge of power plant operations and plant systems. Familiarity with maintenance management systems. Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems. Familiarity with precision maintenance practices. Technical knowledge and problem‑solving skills for electrical maintenance of equipment used in power generation. Experience with bargaining unit environments and collective bargaining agreements. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools. Previous experience as an electrical maintenance supervisor at an industrial facility or power plant.
