Travel ICU Registered Nurse – Night Shift (3x12s)
Location: Alton Memorial Hospital – Alton, IL

Facility Overview:
Alton Memorial Hospital is a 222-bed facility with a 12-bed intensive care/step-down unit serving adult and geriatric patients. Average daily census is approximately 6–8 patients.

Shift Details:

• Night shift: 19:00 – 07:30
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts
• Contract length: 91 weeks (as listed)

Patient Population:
This unit provides care for high-acuity adult and geriatric patients, including:

• Acute stroke and neurological conditions
• Cardiac conditions (MI, dysrhythmias, post-cardiac arrest)
• Respiratory failure requiring ventilatory support
• Sepsis, shock, and multi-organ failure
• Drug overdose and withdrawal cases
• Endocrine emergencies (DKA, thyroid storm)
• GI bleeding and other critical medical/surgical conditions

Unit Details:

• ICU-level care with occasional step-down overflow
• Patient ratio: 1:2
• Floating required to medical, surgical, MS/Tele, and intermediate care units
• Central line care, ventilator management, CRRT, and critical drips commonly required

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU or critical care experience
• Ventilator and telemetry management
• IV starts and central line care
• Titration of vasoactive and sedation drips
• Management of acute stroke, cardiac, and respiratory failure patients
• First-time travelers accepted

Certifications Required:

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

First-time travelers are accepted; however, strong ICU experience is required (minimum 2 years).
