Interventional Radiology Technologist - $29-38 per hour

Interventional Radiology Technologist – Responsibilities Under general supervision, perform diagnostic interventional exams using appropriate imaging equipment and comply with established policies and procedures. Verify patient identity, review medical records for appropriateness of exam, interview patients to obtain or update medical history, and assess risk factors such as medications, pregnancy, or psychological indicators. Explain procedures to patients, including side effects, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow‑up care. Set up equipment and acquire images as per script. Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to the radiologist. Recognize and respond to medical emergencies when appropriate. Provide physician‑prescribed post‑care instructions, participate in process improvement activities (quality of care, patient flow, reject‑repeat analysis, patient satisfaction), and provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees. Be available for call/standby as required, and may perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist as needed. Minimum Qualifications Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (RT), Vascular‑Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular‑Interventional (CV). Complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by the end of the orientation period. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire for employees working in an adult setting, or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year of hire for employees working in a cardiology setting. One or more years of experience as an ARRT Radiologic Technologist in Radiology. Skills Required Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most appropriate imaging method based on patient ability and limitations. Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively instruct patients under physical or emotional stress and to understand physicians’ verbal and written requests. Technical knowledge to operate all specialized equipment and computers. Ability to work productively in a complex environment and manage multiple or changing priorities. Knowledge of American College of Radiology accreditation requirements. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients. Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate and utilize all types of X‑ray equipment and supplies to produce diagnostically acceptable radiographs.
