As the procurement lead, this individual will be responsible for managing a team of buyers and working closely with Product Sourcing Engineers to maintain supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure parts are delivered on time. This role serves as a critical bridge between the buying team and technical stakeholders — enabling buyers to execute effectively while partnering with Product Sourcing Engineers on supplier selection, cost convergence, and supply network development. They will work with the broader Supply Chain team to support strategic sourcing initiatives and planning in pursuit of manufacturing goals.What You'll DoManage, mentor, and develop a team of buyers, setting priorities, balancing workloads, and ensuring the buying team has the tools, training, and supplier context needed to execute purchase orders accurately and on timePartner with Product Sourcing Engineers to align on supplier selection, cost targets, and make-vs-buy decisions, translating their strategic sourcing direction into day-to-day procurement executionCoordinate with Product Sourcing Engineers during NPI phases to ensure procurement timelines, supplier qualifications, and BOM readiness support production ramp schedulesLead cross-functional projects to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targetsMonitor and report key performance indicators in regard to performance to plan, surfacing risks and bottlenecks to the buying team and sourcing engineers earlySupport engineering and manufacturing to determine best sources, working alongside Product Sourcing Engineers to validate supplier capabilitiesIdentify and execute cost reduction projects in collaboration with sourcing engineers and the buying teamNegotiate commercial terms with suppliersAnalyze supplier data and identify areas of opportunity for expanding and/or consolidating the Approved Supplier List (ASL)Conduct research, benchmark, and collect market data to ensure a best-in-class supply basePlace purchase orders and resolve downstream issues with receiving, finance, and accountingMaintain procurement-related master data in the ERP systemOwn the procurement process cradle-to-grave, from sourcing through delivery and paymentRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related discipline5+ years of supply chain experience in progressive rolesExperience with technical procurementEffective written, verbal, and presentation skillsAbility to read drawings and blueprintsExceptional analytical and organizational skillsFamiliarity with leading ERP systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience managing or leading a team of buyers or procurement professionals, with a track record of developing talent and driving team performanceExperience partnering closely with sourcing engineers or technical stakeholders to execute supply chain strategyDeeper experience within:Strategic sourcing and supplier developmentCost engineering and should-cost modelingContract negotiation and commercial risk managementNPI procurement support and BOM managementFamiliarity with procurement in a defense or highly regulated environmentExperience working in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environmentExposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environmentEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearanceUS Salary Range$130,000 - $170,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
