Family Practice/Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Job Description:

We are actively seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens opportunity in Altoona, Pennsylvania . This is a weekday-only outpatient primary care assignment in a well-supported clinic environment serving employees and their families.

Position Highlights:
• Outpatient primary care setting
• Monday Friday schedule (no nights, no weekends, no call)
• 35 hours per week
• 3-month assignment with potential extension
• Start date: April 2026
• EMR: Athena
• Ages 2+
• Supportive clinic staff

The clinic emphasizes preventive care, chronic disease management, wellness visits, and same-day acute appointments in a quality-focused environment.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
• Provide preventive care and lifestyle counseling
• Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation

Requirements:
• Active Pennsylvania NP license
• Board Certified (AANP or ANCC)
• Active DEA
• Current BLS
• Minimum 2 years of primary care experience preferred
• Ability to practice independently

Compensation:

Compensation is competitive and based on overall experience, clinical background, and assignment fit. Travel and lodging assistance may be available for qualified providers.
