Emergency Room RN

The Rural Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and indirect patient care in an emergency care setting with a focus on initiative, flexibility, and professional responsibility. This role requires rapid and accurate triage, prioritizing care based on patient needs and system factors, and effective communication with Emergency Department physicians regarding patient status and diagnostic results. The RN must respond swiftly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response, primarily during night shifts with occasional charge nurse responsibilities. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the emergency room.
• Triage patients safely, rapidly, and accurately to determine care priorities.
• Assess physical and psychosocial needs influencing patient care and flow.
• Communicate changes in patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic results to Emergency Department physicians.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.
• Perform occasional charge nurse duties during night shifts.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in emergency or acute care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

• Experience working in rural or acute care hospital emergency departments.
• Previous charge nurse or leadership experience.
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).

• Night shift work with occasional charge nurse responsibilities.
• Work in a rural acute care hospital emergency room environment.
• Must be able to respond rapidly and accurately to emergency situations.

• Primarily night shifts with occasional charge shifts as assigned.
• Shift schedules determined by department needs and staffing requirements.
