Be one of the first to apply — offer rates tend to be higher at this stage Description American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring an active NY RN license and EPIC charting experience. Details Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting providing telemetry and stepdown-level care Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including long-term pulmonary conditions, ENT surgery, and other surgical procedures requiring stepdown care Patient ratio of 1:4-5 Every other weekend required Every other holiday required, if needed Floating required within skillset Uses EPIC for charting Requirements Active NY Single State RN license required (NY is not part of the Compact) BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent experience required EPIC charting experience required Prior travel experience required Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration Central and peripheral line care/management experience Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) Skilled in nasal cannula and oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use Additional Information Provide telemetry and stepdown-level nursing care to adult and geriatric patients Work in a Magnet-recognized, academic teaching hospital certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center Scrubs must be any combination of navy blue and white First-time travelers are welcome to apply Facility may cancel up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges Local RN candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted, though local LPN candidates are accepted Previous employees must have a 6-month system-wide break in service to be eligible for rehire These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
