Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Nights Location: Newburgh, Indiana. This position involves providing high-quality care on a medical-surgical unit specializing in adult patient care. The role requires strong assessment skills and the ability to manage a diverse patient population. The position is a 13-week contract with scheduled night shifts to accommodate operational needs.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active compact license, current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications. Minimum of two years of strong Medical-Surgical (MS) experience, including at least one travel assignment and trauma level II experience. Recent Electronic Health Record (EHR) system experience required, specifically with EPIC.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PIV insertion, stable medication drips (heparin, Lasix, Protonix), and strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
• Float: Float to other units within skillset, including potential cross-campus assignments with a two-hour notice.
• Additional Information:
  • 32-bed unit with ratios of 1:5 for days and 1:5 to 1:7 for nights.
  • Excellent team support with LPNs and CNAs.
  • Must wear navy blue scrubs with no competing health system or agency logos.
  • Holiday rotation: Every other holiday.
  • Three weekends scheduled every six weeks.
  • Positions may require precepting students or new hires.
