Structural Designer

HGA is seeking a Structural Designer for a direct-hire role in our Woodlands, TX office, responsible for supporting civil, structural, and architectural design, drafting, and project delivery across multiple projects. Key Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the CSA Lead Engineer.

• Understand project scope and seek clarification as needed.

• Understand and support structural drawing package deliverables.

• Maintain work within assigned budget hours.

• Perform field work to identify:
  • Existing foundation and structural steel conditions.
    
    
  • Equipment layouts and clearances.
    
    
  • Pipe rack and pipe support locations.
    
    
  • Spare structural connection points and other structural field conditions.
• Prepare structural AutoCAD drawings, including foundations, structural steel framing, and connection details.

• Ensure company and/or client drafting standards and structural design practices are followed.

• Communicate needs, delays, or issues to the Lead Engineer.

• Review and interpret vendor drawings related to structural scope.

• Check all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.

• Complete work efficiently to support project deadlines.

• Provide engineering/design support tasks including:

• Assembling document packages.

• Making copies.

• Converting .dwg files to PDFs.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2019 or higher.

• Proficient in AutoCAD 3D modeling.

• Experience with structural steel and foundation design strongly preferred.

• General knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), ASCE, AISC, and other applicable structural design standards.

• Extensive knowledge of CAD and structural engineering design software.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (Access is a plus).

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to interface with clients as needed.

• Strong prioritization and execution skills in a high-pressure environment.

• Willingness and ability to learn and apply new technologies.

• Experience with a consulting engineering firm strongly preferred.

• Structural, Civil, or Architectural technical degree preferred, with a focus on structural coursework or project experience.

• Must be able to commute to the Woodlands office several days per week.
