Job Title Category Manager – Electronics Components The Opportunity We currently have an opening for a Category Manager – Electronics Components for our Cardiac Rhythm Management division. This role is located at our Scottsdale, AZ location and is a fully onsite role. Abbott focuses on innovative technologies to improve how doctors treat heart arrhythmias. What You’ll Work On We are seeking a high-caliber and ambitious Category Manager to join our team in Abbott Medical Devices. This position will be responsible for the Electronics components category globally. Assess variety of supplier’s products to ensure they comply with specifications and meet the organization’s quality standards. Requires a high degree of skill and independence in negotiation activities. Typically involved in large and/or more complex purchases where suppliers have a higher impact on the organization’s products, processes and budget. May coach and provide instruction to lower-level staff. Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in the specific area. Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects. Adapts precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions. Responsible for purchasing the services and supplies necessary for the organization's operations. Activities include sourcing, evaluating and selecting suppliers and vendors, negotiating supply contracts, and monitoring the quality and timeliness of materials and services supplied. Education and Experience You’ll Bring Required Experience Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Minimum 10 years progressively responsible experience in purchasing/commodity management. Minimum 3 years in a highly regulated environment. Minimum 8 years with purchasing/commodity management software. Strong experience in negotiating terms in purchasing agreements. In-depth experience in contract management. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment. Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects. Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner. Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
