Demand and Operations Planning Analyst

The Demand & Operations Planning Analyst is responsible for optimizing the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes. This role involves collaborating with various departments, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment between demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production plans. The SIOP Analyst will develop and implement strategies to improve forecast accuracy.


Job Responsibilities

  • Generates and analyzes data and reports for the SIOPs process ensuring consistency & accuracy.
  • Integrates data from multiple sources, ensuring data consistency and quality.
  • Develops and maintains accurate demand forecasts using statistical models, historical data, and market insights. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotional activities and market trends.
  • Works with Operations and Procurement personnel on historical and projected production and capacities to ensure production plans meet demand forecasts while considering capacity constraints, lead times, and efficiency targets.
  • Conducts analysis of sales, forecasts, production, and capacities and generates reports, interactive dashboards and graphics in the Business Intelligence software and Excel.
  • Participates in all monthly SIOP meetings including the executive review meetings.
  • Develops and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to forecast accuracy, inventory, service levels, and production efficiency.
  • Responsible for the process of analyzing, developing, and maintaining all reorder points and lead times in the ERP system to ensure an effective balance of high customer service levels with acceptable inventory.
  • Documents & maintains Standard Operating Procedures for generating SIOP reports.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Vollrath SIOPs process.
  • Responsible for facilitating ongoing backorder analysis including a weekly backorder meeting.
  • Maintains database of backorder data.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a Major in Supply Chain or Materials Management
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in SIOP, demand planning, inventory management, or a related role within a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Proficient with JDE data around Orders, Shipments, and Inventory
  • Proficiency in Tableau: Ability to create, maintain, and interpret dashboards and visualizations to support SIOP analysis and reporting. Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to ensure usefulness of dashboards and forecasting algorithms
  • Experience with Snowflake: Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
  • SQL Skills: Ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting within enterprise databases
  • Proficiency in demand planning software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with statistical forecasting techniques and data analysis tools
  • Strong math and/or programming skills
  • Ability to program Forecasting models in Python preferred
  • Ability to generate forecast model statistics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present to senior management
