Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Promotional Product Buyer. In this role, the successful candidate will act as a vital link between NYU Langone Health's marketing objectives and tangible promotional items that support brand awareness, patient experience, and employee and student engagement. You will assist with the sourcing, selection, and purchasing of high‑quality products at competitive prices while adhering to NYU Langone Health's brand guidelines and standards. Job Responsibilities Vendor Relationship Management Build and maintain relationships with preferred suppliers Negotiate favorable terms, offerings, and pricing with suppliers Ensure the on‑time delivery of products Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement Product Selection Work with customers to identify promotional product needs Assist customers with the product selection process while considering factors such as price, quality, timeline, branding opportunities, and use‑case Collaborate with the Marketing team to understand NYU Langone Health’s brand guidelines Inventory Management Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations Implement inventory control strategies to minimize shrinkage and maximize turnover Regularly review and adjust stock reorder points based on sales trends Coordinate with warehouse, as necessary, to manage stock levels efficiently Seek cost‑effective solutions and explore bulk purchasing opportunities to maximize savings Quality Control Ensure that promotional products comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and NYU Langone Health quality standards Address any issues or challenges related to product procurement, delivery delays, quality concerns, or budget overruns, finding effective solutions to keep orders and projects on track Communication & Collaboration Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as value analysis, purchasing, marketing, and hospital operations Educate customers on preferred suppliers, product offerings, processes, and customization options Provide internal teams, customers, and suppliers with regular updates on orders, delivery schedules, and changes to product specifications Market Analysis Monitor market trends, competitive pricing, and consumer preferences Analyze sales data to make informed purchasing decisions Assist with streamlining spend through core suppliers Reporting and Analysis Prepare reports on sales, inventory turnover, and product performance Use data to identify opportunities for cost savings and streamlined processes Monitor expenses related to purchasing and adjust strategies as needed Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, supply chain management or a related field (preferred) 3+ years of experience in retail buying or product development Familiarity with supplier management, sourcing methods, the retail industry, and product categories Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Possess a customer service centric mindset Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision‑making skills Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
