Location: Indianapolis, IN Pay Rate: $18.00/hour Employment Type: Contingent with potential pathway for hire Schedule: Day/Evening Shift (EST), Monday - Friday, 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM, with potential Saturday and/or Sunday hours Why This Role Matters As a Lab Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting laboratory operations by ensuring specimens are accurately processed, maintained, and prepared for testing. Your work helps laboratory professionals deliver timely and reliable results. What You’ll Do Sort, receive, and process incoming specimens Centrifuge specimens, print labels, and maintain specimen storage and retrieval processes Prepare specimens for testing, including aliquoting, slide preparation, inoculation, and worklist creation Perform routine instrument maintenance and quality assurance/quality control activities as assigned Resolve pending lists and locate missing samples as needed Prepare reagents and media for laboratory testing procedures Record and maintain department data, including temperature logs and department files Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous materials according to safety guidelines Perform weekly radioactive wipe tests and assist with changing gas cylinders Utilize laboratory computer systems and PCs to support daily operations Follow all PPE requirements, safety regulations, and training protocols What We’re Looking For A current, up-to-date resume High school diploma or equivalent (copy of diploma required) Medical assistant training is helpful Math and science coursework preferred Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently Strong attention to detail and ability to retain learned information Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach Ability to pass a color vision test Ability to meet compliance requirements What’s In It For You Opportunity to gain valuable laboratory and healthcare industry experience Potential pathway to permanent employment Competitive pay with first-shift premium opportunities Hands‑on training and skill development Collaborative and safety‑focused work environment Exposure to laboratory processes and healthcare operations Benefits for Manpower Associates (Upon Eligibility) Upon completion of waiting period associates are eligible for: #J-18808-Ljbffr
