District Representative - Office of Senator Gonzalez (Huntington Park, CA)

This position reports to the Assistant Director for Title I, Part A/Director of School Improvement in the division of NCLB Program Coordination. Performs complex consultative and technical assistance work involving planning, developing, and implementing federal Title I program, recognition program, and regional services. Provides consultative services and technical assistance to program staff at education service centers, local education agencies, and campuses served by Title I or identified in need of improvement. Work includes implementation of Title I, School Improvement, and Services to Private Nonprofit schools processes. Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or division director. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Education Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university. Experience One (1) year experience administering and implementing education programs and/or initiatives, with documented experience with the Title I, Part A program and the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act. Substitution Education and experience may substitute for one another on a year‑for‑year basis. Positions exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will earn compensatory time off rather than overtime for hours in excess of 40 per week. May be required to work hours other than 8 to 5.
