Requirements

• Basic life support
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Education: Associate degree (AA) from an accredited dental hygiene program.
Licensure: Current and unrestricted Georgia State Board Registered Hygienist License.
Certifications: Valid X-ray and CPR/BLS certifications.
Experience: Open to candidates with 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in dental terminology, laboratory procedures, and basic computer operations.
Specialized Authority: Valid state license to administer local anesthetics (preferred).
Professionalism: Ability to remain tactful and composed under pressure while treating all patients with respect.
Adaptability: Ready to manage competing demands and adjust methods to fit the needs of a diverse patient base.
Communication: Clear and persuasive oral communication skills to help patients understand their treatment paths.
Ethics & Integrity: A commitment to upholding organizational values and maintaining strict patient confidentiality.

Job Description

Clinical Excellence: Perform prophylaxis, periodontal scaling, root planing, debridement, and fluoride/sealant applications.
Diagnostic Assessment: Conduct comprehensive screenings, including oral cancer exams (palpating lymph nodes and inspecting soft tissue) and periodontal probing.
Advanced Procedures: Administer local anesthetics, take study cast impressions, remove sutures, and remove excess cement from coronal surfaces.
Imaging & Documentation: Expose, develop, and interpret radiographs while maintaining meticulous patient charts and medical histories.
Emergency Readiness: Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment.
Preventive Education: Lead patient education initiatives and conduct community dental health clinics to promote oral hygiene.
