Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Press Brake Operator to operate press brake equipment in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for setting up and operating press brakes, loading materials, monitoring production, inspecting completed parts, and making routine machine adjustments to ensure products meet quality and dimensional specifications.
The ideal candidate has previous experience operating forming, stamping, punch, brake press, or similar metal-fabrication equipment in a precision environment. We will also consider candidates with strong general machine-operation experience and the mechanical aptitude to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brakes and related production equipment.
- Install or assist with changing dies, tooling, fixtures, and machine components.
- Adjust machine settings, speeds, pressure, and fixturing according to work instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, production drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and templates.
- Monitor equipment during production and identify quality or performance issues.
- Make basic machine adjustments to maintain tolerances and production standards.
- Document production quantities, scrap, downtime, and quality results.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including machine guarding and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Work collaboratively with production, quality, maintenance, and supervisory personnel.
- Perform other manufacturing and fabrication duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least one year of manufacturing or machine-operation experience preferred.
- Experience with press brakes, stamping presses, punch presses, press brakes, roll-forming equipment, or similar machinery is strongly preferred.
- Ability to understand basic dimensions and tolerances and ensure product conforms to specifications.
- Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime when required.
- Forklift or overhead-crane experience is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work around manufacturing equipment for an entire shift.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and handle metal parts and materials.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and fluctuating temperatures.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.
