Attendance Record Maintainer
Primary Purpose: Maintain accurate attendance records for the campus; perform data entry including attendance, Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data, and grades; enter student enrollment data and withdrawals in accordance with District policy and in compliance with PEIMS reporting standards; collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into established database and verify accuracy, according to established procedures; prepare and print reports, including attendance reports, grades, class or personnel rosters, end-of-semester reports, assist in campus office as needed; maintain confidentiality; assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance; call parents to verify student absences, as needed; report all attendance problems to designated administrator and/or truant officer.
Qualifications: Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to use computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases; effective organizational, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; proficient typing and word processing, file maintenance, excellent public relation skills; ability to meet established deadlines; Experience: 1-3 year of secretarial and accounting experience preferably in an educational environment
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Support Board and administrative policies and decisions Maintain professional work environment through a positive attitude, punctuality, regular attendance, phone etiquette and personal appearance. General Record attendance for 2nd period each day and report to Student Services. Report unauthorized student absences to parents by phone. Compile a daily list of absentees by period. Provide individual student attendance information to associate principals as necessary. Collect roll sheets at the end of each six weeks; prepare for annual reporting to Student Services. Complete computer registration information as needed. Student Management: Oversee duties for office student workers Other Complete federal funding questionnaires. Maintain confidentiality. Answer phone politely and take messages accurately. Obtain assistance for callers or visitors as needed. Send and receive faxes. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the principal or designee. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Working Conditions: Tools and Equipment: Computer, copier, printer, phone, fax machine, and calculator Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control and manage stress and work with frequent interruptions Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Lift 15 pounds up to 45 pounds, carry 15 pounds up to 45 pounds, ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, sit for long periods of time, hear well, good visual acuity, speak clearly, repetitive hand motions.
