Shop Helper / Painter / Fabricator Location: Matthews, NC Schedule: Monday– Friday, 4: 30 AM– 12: 30 PM, with overtime as needed Pay: $24 - $28 per hour, based on experience Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Shop Helper / Painter / Fabricator to join a busy production team. This hands-on role will assist with steel fabrication, painting, material handling, assembly, and general shop operations. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Assist with fabrication, painting, and production activities Load, unload, move, and stage steel and other materials Clean, grind, and prepare steel for fabrication and painting Assist welders and fabricators with materials and parts Paint steel structures and crane components Assist with crane assembly and basic quality inspections Safely use hand and power tools Read tape measures, part tags, and material labels Operate forklifts and overhead cranes after training Perform other shop duties as assigned Qualifications Manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or shop experience preferred Ability to read a tape measure and use basic hand and power tools Strong work ethic and dependable attendance Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to follow instructions and work well with a team Ability to lift, move, and handle materials throughout the workday Preferred: Experience with welding, fabrication, industrial painting, mechanical assembly, forklifts, or overhead cranes.
