Shop Helper / Painter / Fabricator
Location: Matthews, NC
Schedule: Monday– Friday, 4:30 AM– 12:30 PM, with overtime as needed
Pay: $24 - $28 per hour, based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary: We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Shop Helper / Painter / Fabricator to join a busy production team. This hands-on role will assist with steel fabrication, painting, material handling, assembly, and general shop operations. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with fabrication, painting, and production activities
- Load, unload, move, and stage steel and other materials
- Clean, grind, and prepare steel for fabrication and painting
- Assist welders and fabricators with materials and parts
- Paint steel structures and crane components
- Assist with crane assembly and basic quality inspections
- Safely use hand and power tools
- Read tape measures, part tags, and material labels
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes after training
- Perform other shop duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or shop experience preferred
- Ability to read a tape measure and use basic hand and power tools
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work well with a team
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials throughout the workday
Preferred: Experience with welding, fabrication, industrial painting, mechanical assembly, forklifts, or overhead cranes.
