Job Title: Product Testing Engineer

Job Description

As a Lab / Product Testing Engineer, you will collaborate with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to develop and execute testing procedures and methodologies. You will work closely with design engineers to define testing parameters and oversee test execution. Success in this role requires a responsive, flexible approach and the ability to thrive in an open, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, set up, and manage multiple tests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

• Document and communicate findings directly to engineers and through detailed reports.

• Adapt quickly to learn new skills in response to changing customer needs.

Essential Skills

• Experience in Hardware Reliability Testing, Environmental Testing, Aerospace Testing, or related fields including HALT, Temperature/Humidity Testing, Temperature Cycling, Shock, Drop, Vibration, Salt Fog/Spray, and UV Exposure.

• Proficiency in using and debugging PowerShell scripts.

• Experience designing experiments to measure and collect test data using tools like accelerometers, thermocouples, and strain gauges.

• Understanding of basic electric/electronic theory with the ability to perform basic wiring/cable installation and electric troubleshooting.

• Experience in setting up and using electrical/electronic test equipment such as digital multi-meters, dataloggers, and oscilloscopes.

• Ability to write detailed test reports.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and handle flexible workloads.

• Experience with Failure Analysis and sample preparation including mechanical cross-sectioning.

• Demonstrated ability to research and identify required specifications.

• Ability to read schematics and circuit drawings.

• Experience in designing/developing automated testing systems.

• Proficiency in software such as Office, Labview, Matlab, a scripting/programming environment (e.g. VBA, Python, C#, Perl), JMP, or Minitab.

Work Environment

The work environment is a small engineering lab where you will have the opportunity to support multiple projects. This role involves collaborating with other teams to support testing and work not feasible locally, especially for fulfillment centers.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Sunnyvale, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
