Established (50+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking Associate Attorney for Affordable Housing & Community Development in Boston, MAAn established firm with over 50+ years in practice is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney with 2-4+ years of experience to join their national community development practice in a hybrid capacity in Boston, MA. This role centers on structuring and closing complex, multilayered affordable housing and community development transactions, with deep exposure to New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs), historic rehabilitation tax credits (HTCs), real estate finance, and HUD-assisted housing on behalf of a diverse national client base including developers, tax-exempt organizations, investors, lenders, CDEs, and QALICBs.Offer:Salary range: $193,000-$230,000+, contingent on experienceComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for attorney and qualified dependents401(k) with matching, profit sharing, and bonus potential12 paid federal holidays plus sick and safe leaveHybrid schedule with Flex-Time policy and minimum billable hour structureQualifications:2-4+ years of experience in affordable housing finance, community development, or related transactional practiceActive bar admission in good standingExperience with federal and state tax credit programs, including NMTCs and HTCsFamiliarity with HUD-assisted housing programs and real estate finance structuresBackground working with tax-exempt organizations, CDEs, QALICBs, or similar mission-driven entitiesStrong drafting and analytical skills with the ability to manage complex, multi-party transactionsResponsibilities:Structure and close affordable housing and community development transactions at the national levelAdvise clients on the application of New Markets Tax Credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, and related federal and state programsDraft and negotiate transaction documents across a range of financing structures including real estate finance and HUD-assisted housingRepresent a diverse client base including developers, investors, lenders, tax-exempt organizations, CDEs, and QALICBsCollaborate with senior attorneys on multilayered deals from inception through closingStay current on developments in affordable housing law, tax credit policy, and community development finance
