POSITION: Construction Accountant JOBSUMMARY The ConstructionAccountant is responsible for maintaining and tracking allcosts related to construction projects. He/She will review contractors’ billsfor accuracy and completeness and approve payment requests. Processing invoices, requisitions, andpurchase order in a timely manner, as well as approving and processing payroll,expense reports and back draws. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborating with theproject manager to develop a detailed, cost-effective budget for theproject. Performing accountingduties throughout the project, such as preparing invoices, and estimatingcash flow. Analyzing alltransactions and working unforeseen costs into the budget. Keeping a record of allproject finances for internal/external auditing and tax purposes. Preparing cost analysesby interpreting projects' financial data and information. Reporting any financialrisks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review. Researching markettrends and projecting construction-related price increases/decreases. Developing andmaintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Keeping abreast withboth the construction and accounting industry. Verify all pertinentinformation is correct on invoices and on file, such retainage amounts, insurance,and lien waivers prior to making payment to subcontractors. Enter, Code, Print andIssue payment on invoices. Import Credit Card andpayroll processing. Monthly project billingand bank reconciliation. Create and maintainvarious reports for Project Managers and Management Prepare bank draws andcomplete all billing. Maintain all accountspayable and receivables functions. Assist in InsuranceAudits and billing. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, ora related field. A certification in construction accounting ispreferred. A minimum of 3 year's experience in private orpublic accounting. INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE Excellent knowledge of construction costaccounting and related financial procedures. Familiarity with accounting software, such as M3,QuickBooks and NetSuite. Familiarity with Sage Timberline and/orBuilderstrend Working knowledge of the constructionindustry. REQUIRED SKILLS Solid analytical and mathematical skills. Meticulous attention to detail and a highlevel of accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
