Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Seattle, Washington.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 26 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 26 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a high-risk, high-volume unit requiring circulating and newborn care skills.Details\n \n Work in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit performing all delivery types\n Care for midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services patients, and community care clinic patients\n Unit has 4 ORs, 31 rooms/beds, average daily census of 15, and 500-600 deliveries per month\n Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM\n Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2\n Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring\n Float required to Post Partum/Antepartum units and possibly to sister facilities with Mother/Baby units\n Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs\n Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed\n Requirements\n \n Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration\n BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate preferred\n Minimum 3-5 years of Labor and Delivery experience required, with at least 2 years in a high acuity, high pace environment\n High-risk L&D experience required; 5 years preferred\n Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until postpartum transfer\n Must be able to circulate for deliveries and provide newborn care including eye and Vitamin K injections, thigh injections, and newborn assessments\n Epic EMR experience required\n Experience with medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate\n Current supervisory references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years\n Proof of required certifications and current Nursys license verification required for consideration\n Must pass clinical review\n Additional Information\n \n Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases\n Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines\n Skilled in high-risk delivery support, hemorrhage/shock management, and postpartum complications care\n Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal resuscitation support\n Support pain management including epidural, general anesthesia, and opioid administration\n First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month separation and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility\n Local candidates accepted at the standard bill rate\n Time off requests must be submitted upfront during the application process; post-offer requests may not be accommodated\n Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)\n Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-750502.
