Job Description The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision. They evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans, explaining the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients while providing necessary education upon discharge. Responsibilities Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory and aerosol equipment. Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning of patients by various methods. Monitor oximetry and capnography in line with policy requirements. Review patients' chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies as necessary. Assist with procedures related to respiratory care, including bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care. Record all pertinent information related to treatments and patient responses in charts.
