We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Operations Manager to lead safety initiatives, oversee compliance programs, and support operational best practices throughout our transportation network. Position Overview

As a Safety Operations Manager , you will oversee company-wide safety initiatives, monitor regulatory compliance, manage driver qualification programs, conduct investigations, and partner with operational leadership to promote a culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Program Leadership

• Develop, implement, and manage safety programs across transportation operations
• Promote a culture centered on safety awareness, accountability, and accident prevention
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and operational assessments
• Monitor safety performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
• Recommend and implement corrective actions that reduce risk and improve safety outcomes

Compliance Management

• Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and transportation industry standards
• Maintain compliance records, documentation, and reporting requirements
• Conduct internal reviews and audits to verify regulatory compliance
• Stay current on changing regulations and implement necessary updates
• Support adherence to local, state, and federal transportation requirements

Driver Qualification & Risk Management

• Oversee driver qualification files, licensing records, background screenings, and required certifications
• Manage drug and alcohol testing compliance programs
• Monitor qualification deadlines and ensure all required documentation remains up to date
• Support onboarding compliance requirements for new drivers
• Help maintain a highly qualified and compliant driver workforce

Incident Investigation & Prevention

• Investigate accidents, incidents, customer complaints, and safety concerns
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop preventative action plans
• Track trends and identify opportunities to reduce incidents and operational risk
• Prepare detailed reports, recommendations, and documentation for leadership review
• Work closely with operations teams to implement corrective measures

Training & Operational Support

• Coordinate and support safety training programs for drivers and employees
• Provide guidance on company policies, safety procedures, and compliance requirements
• Partner with operational leadership to ensure consistent safety standards across all departments
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety and operational performance
• Serve as a trusted resource for safety-related questions and concerns

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation safety, compliance, fleet operations, risk management, or a related field preferred
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation compliance, and safety programs
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective action planning
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and documentation abilities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with compliance reporting systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
