Step into an impactful opportunity shaping the foundation of learning for preschool-aged students in a nurturing environment. As a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher, you’ll be working closely with young learners, supporting their growth and development through individualized instruction. This full-time contract role begins August 25, 2026, and offers approximately 12 weeks of hands-on teaching experience focused on early childhood special education.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification (appropriate for preschool level).
- Prior experience delivering special education services to young children, preferably within preschool settings.
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and compliance requirements.
- Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans grounded in developmental best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Creativity, patience, and a genuine commitment to fostering supportive learning environments.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, specialized instruction tailored to preschool students’ unique developmental and educational needs.
- Manage, implement, and document student IEPs, working closely with service providers and families.
- Cultivate a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom atmosphere that promotes inclusion and positive social interaction.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting strategies to optimize learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with school staff and related service professionals to coordinate comprehensive support.
- Contribute to ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding student growth and participation.
