High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of hospital safety and infection control procedures.

Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and moving patients safely.

Valid certification in basic life support (BLS) or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Previous experience working in a hospital or surgical services environment.

Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or similar healthcare support credential.

Familiarity with medical terminology related to surgical procedures.

Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare team members.

Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Prepare and maintain surgical suites and related areas by cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing equipment and supplies according to established protocols.

Assist in the safe transport of patients to and from operating rooms, ensuring patient comfort and adherence to safety procedures.

Support surgical teams by promptly delivering necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures as directed.

Monitor and restock surgical supplies and equipment to ensure availability and readiness for upcoming procedures.

Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to maintain a sterile environment and comply with infection control standards.

The Orderly utilizes strong organizational skills daily to ensure surgical areas are clean, well-stocked, and prepared for procedures, which directly impacts patient safety and surgical efficiency.

Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating with surgical teams and providing compassionate support to patients during transport.
