We have immediate openings for candidates to score the subjects below remotely for our Hadley, MA office: (MA) Associate, Scoring Services Dance Digital Literacy & Computer Science History Music Technology Engineering Theater Qualifications A bachelor’s degree or higher, and A current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for AND be practicing or have two (2) or more years’ recent experience in the service role in a public school in the subject area you are applying for OR serve as, or have recently served as, a college/university/program faculty member who prepares candidates for the subject you are applying for OR who holds a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree and is a graduate student currently teaching courses in the subject area Both active and recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score. Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse) Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to maintain a confidential work environment Eligible to work in the United States Overall Responsibilities Evaluate responses to test questions by Massachusetts teacher candidates Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities Recognize and discuss various types of bias (e.g., implicit bias, cultural bias, leniency bias, central tendency bias, halo effect) and effect strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring Key benefits Rate of $17.50 per hour Working remotely Working Conditions Scoring sessions take place during the week Monday through Friday. Scoring sessions will occur on one or two days every 4 to 8 weeks depending on the subject. The scoring day runs from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m., including training. Three to sixteen hours of work are available on the one to two days every 4-8 weeks. Training takes place before scoring begins. There may be a brief orientation meeting before the day of scoring occurs. Note: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. This position is NOT bonus/benefits eligible.
