More information: You'll DoDeliver therapy under the PT's direction and physician's plan of careTreat patients to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain performanceGuide patients through exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and transfer training, and prosthetic trainingApply heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage as orderedReport patient response and changes in condition to the PTTeach patients to use wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devicesDocument care accurately and on timeParticipate in Home Care Team meetings and inservice educationTake on other duties as assignedQualificationsGraduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with an Associate's degree in science or applied science approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.Current certification or license as required by state law.Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.Physical DemandsThis role requires the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:Prolonged walking and standingLifting and carrying up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionallyLifting, positioning, and transferring patients (with assistance for patients over 50 lbs, per agency safe-handling policy)Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouchingVisual acuity and hearing sufficient to perform required dutiesHealth RequirementsRequired before providing patient care:Pre-employment physical screening, or a letter from a recent healthcare encounter confirming the candidate is free of communicable diseaseDocumented negative TB test (TST or TB blood test) taken within the past 12 monthsTB risk assessment and symptom evaluation upon hireCompensation & BenefitsPay: Negotiable based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities401(k) retirement plan (W-2)Supplemental benefits include critical illness and accident coverage (W-2)Employee referral program
