Budget Technical Manager

Fauquier County is hiring for our Office of Management and Budget!

We're looking for an experienced budget and finance professional with strong analytical, leadership, and organizational skills to help support the County's financial planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the preparation and management of operating and capital budgets.
• Analyzing financial data, funding requests, and resource allocations.
• Overseeing financial reporting, grant compliance, and budget monitoring.
• Supporting strategic planning, performance measures, and long-term financial planning.
• Providing guidance to County departments on budget preparation and financial procedures.
• Coordinating staff activities and identifying opportunities to improve budgeting operations.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in finance, public administration, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of progressively responsible budget preparation experience, including automated budgeting systems and municipal government administration.
• 2–3 years of professional supervisory experience.
