This position is located at the Minnesota Air National Guard Base (148th Fighter Wing), adjacent to Duluth International Airport. The airbase fire station provides fire protection and crash firefighting for both the Duluth Air National Guard Base and the Duluth International Airport. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Must be IFSAC certified as Airport Firefighter Must be IFSAC certified as Firefighter II Must be IFSAC certified as Driver Operator ARFF Must be IFSAC certified as Driver Operator Pumper Must be IFSAC certified as Driver Operator Mobile Water Supply (MWS) Must be IFSAC certified as Hazardous Materials Incident Command Must be IFSAC Certified Fire Officer II Must be IFSAC Certified Fire Instructor II Must be IFSAC Certified Fire Inspector II Must be IFSAC Certified Fire Inspector II Must be a Nationally Registered EMT (NRMET). Ability to obtain and possess an Air National Guard and DIAP security clearance. Must possess a current/valid driver’s license. IFSAC‑International Fire Service Accreditation Congress Preferred Qualifications IFSAC certified as Public Telecommunicator I and II. Working Knowledge of vehicle communication systems and resources. Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local fire ground communications. Must be thoroughly familiar with the operation of all assigned apparatus and equipment. Must be thoroughly familiar with egress and safety procedures of all civilian and military aircraft assigned. Must possess a working knowledge of installed aircraft arresting barriers. Must have the ability to maintain discipline and work under adverse conditions as a team. Possess the abilities to follow directions, to take criticism, to get along with co‑workers and supervisors, to treat co‑workers, supervisors, and customers with respect and courtesy, and to refrain from abusive, insubordinate or violent behavior. Must have working knowledge of computer‑based programs for daily operations of the fire station Physical Requirements The strength & agility needed for heavy lifting, sustained physical effort and maneuvering under adverse conditions; ability to meet and maintain NFPA physical condition standards. Must be able to pass the NFPA 1582 medical examination.
