Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 2 years of OR RN experience required License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Predominantly experience in orthopedic skillsets - Experience with a majority of the following cases: laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic appendectomy, exploratory laparotomy, I&D, bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, PEG & tracheostomy, and DaVinci cases - Experience in oncology, ortho, and neuro is highly preferred - 100% nicotine-free Description: This position requires interview availability for the next 3-4 days for candidates. The operating room RN will primarily work day shifts with a possible night shift rotation. There is a possibility of off-shifting (1-3 shifts per week) once every 4-week scheduling period, although off-shifting may not be frequent. Weeknight call requirements are expected to be 1-2 nights per week on average. Weekend call requirements are approximately every 4-5 weeks, requiring 24 hours either Saturday or Sunday, with 1-2 days per month. A block schedule cannot be accommodated. Travelers are not paid the same as core staff members. Call-back pay is applicable only if the traveler is on-call off-site and is called back after their shift has ended. Travelers will be paid their regular rate until they go into overtime if their shift is extended due to census or a case running over. Questions regarding pay should be discussed with the agency. Candidates must have orthopedic experience, as there is a fluctuation of cases, and will not always be assigned to ortho-specific cases. The daily case load typically ranges from 2 to 10 cases per day. This position supports a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Common orthopedic cases include ORIF for fractures, joint revisions, and spinal decompressions. Special equipment and a wide variety of skills are necessary to accommodate different cases. All contracts are expected to end on a Sunday, with the work week defined as Monday through Sunday. Laboratory requirements must be fulfilled within 48-72 hours from accepting an offer. This facility maintains a 100% nicotine-free environment.
