Visiting Angels of Alameda is seeking an exceptional Caregiver Recruiter & Employee Engagement Coordinator to help us attract, hire, and retain outstanding caregivers.

We're looking for a rare combination: a dynamic, proactive recruiter with magnetic people skills AND a meticulous HR professional who takes pride in onboarding, employee relations, administration, and compliance.

What You'll Do

Recruitment & Workforce Growth

• Proactively develop creative strategies to attract qualified caregivers — don't just wait for applications!
• Build relationships with community organizations, training programs, and recruiting partners.
• Manage applicant screening, interviews, reference checks, and hiring.
• Create an engaging, welcoming candidate experience that makes people excited to join Visiting Angels.
• Track recruiting results and continually identify opportunities to strengthen our caregiver workforce.

HR Administration, Employee Relations & Compliance

• Coordinate new-hire onboarding, orientation, and caregiver training.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential employee records.
• Manage caregiver registration and affiliation with California's Home Care Services Bureau.
• Monitor required training, TB screening, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
• Coordinate ongoing training, benefits enrollment, and employee HR processes.
• Address employee performance and policy compliance concerns through coaching, documented corrective action, disciplinary meetings, and appropriate follow-up.

Caregiver Engagement & Retention

• Build meaningful relationships with caregivers and serve as a trusted, approachable resource.
• Develop creative employee recognition and appreciation initiatives.
• Help foster a positive workplace culture where caregivers feel valued, supported, and excited to stay.
• Collaborate with management to improve caregiver satisfaction, accountability, and retention.

You'll also collaborate with our office team and provide occasional backup scheduling assistance.

Shared On-Call Responsibilities: All office team members participate in a rotating evening and weekend on-call schedule, approximately once every five weeks. On-call responsibilities are compensated with a stipend plus hourly pay for time worked.

 

What We're Looking For

• Proven recruiting experience , including candidate sourcing, interviewing, and hiring.
• A naturally engaging, enthusiastic personality with exceptional people skills.
• Strong initiative, creativity, self-motivation, and a drive to achieve measurable results.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and dependable follow-through.
• Experience with HR administration, onboarding, employee relations, or compliance responsibilities.
• Confidence and professionalism in handling sensitive employee conversations, performance concerns, and corrective action.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience in home care, health care recruiting, or California employment compliance is a plus.
