Dance Teacher
Norfolk Public School District
Full-Time and Permanent; Exempt; 7.33 Hours/Day; 200 Days/Year; 10 Months/Year Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in the subject area.
- Eligible for, or in possession of, appropriate Virginia Teaching Certificate.
- Tuberculin Skin test certifying that the individual is free of contagious tuberculosis.
- Must meet all pre-employment screenings.
- Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the subject(s) to be taught.
- Demonstrates considerable knowledge of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching.
- Has the ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports.
- Effectively interacts with pupils, colleagues, administrators and classified employees.
- Knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and graphing technologies.
- Work involves exposure to normal everyday hazards.
- Work is performed in a classroom and requires no unusual demand.
- Teaches up to four blocks per school day, with one non-instructional block for planning, grading papers, and individual conferences with parents and students.
- Shapes and directs students' activities so that they have opportunities to engage meaningfully in class.
- Responsible directly to the principal or designee.
