Store Manager

Overview The Store Manager oversees and is responsible for the store's sales efforts in each department and supervises the store's overall operation to ensure efficiency and profitability. Enforces and upholds the organization's policies, goals, and standards to the sales team to meet sales goals. Communicates with the District Sales Manager and Store Support Center to drive initiatives and business growth. Represents the company in appearance, attitude, and professionalism. The Store Manager is knowledgeable in each product area and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and promoting the merchandise in stores. Responsibilities Drive store sales and achieve sales goals, with a focus on company growth. Manage and control store assets. Direct and oversee all sales efforts in the store. Train and mentor store associates in sales strategies and skills. Maintain awareness of store operations, including sales statistics, inventory, and expenses to drive profitability. Consult and collaborate with the District Sales Manager on policies, goals, and procedures. Direct staff to ensure all department responsibilities and standards are met. Mentor and cultivate a team of Sales Associates, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training. Recruit, hire, train, discipline, and evaluate personnel. Manage payroll and scheduling to meet labor goals. Maintain proper store security and partner with Asset Protection to prevent theft and reduce shrink. Communicate inventory movement with the District Sales Manager. Drive inventory goals and strategies. Execute marketing and advertising plans and stay aware of customer trends. Stay informed on competition and community events to identify opportunities. Provide extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual, including assisting customers during peak periods. Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring effective internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks. Supervisory Responsibilities Manage subordinate supervisors and non-management staff, including Sales Associates, Hub Drivers, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training. Oversee the unit's direction, coordination, and evaluation in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Perform interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing, evaluating, rewarding, and disciplining employees as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience. Experience in retail, preferably footwear and athletic apparel. Experience in managing and cultivating a sales team. 3-5 years of customer service experience. 3+ years of management experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
