Pre-Engineered Steel Building Forman

Job Description: Pre-Engineered Steel Building Foreman Job Summary The Pre-Engineered Steel Building Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the on-site construction, erection, and installation of pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) systems. This position leads field crews, ensures work is performed safely and efficiently, and verifies that projects are completed according to plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise and direct daily activities of steel building crews Lead the erection of pre-engineered steel buildings including frames, columns, beams, purlins, girts, wall panels, roof panels, insulation, and trim Read, interpret, and execute construction drawings, erection plans, and specifications Plan work activities, assign tasks, and ensure manpower and materials are available Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations; conduct daily safety meetings Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, and other trades Monitor quality, productivity, schedules, and job cost control Identify and resolve field issues, material shortages, and constructability concerns Oversee safe operation of cranes, lifts, forklifts, and equipment Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members Complete daily reports, timekeeping, and job documentation Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required 3–5 years of experience in pre-engineered metal buildings or steel erection Previous supervisory or foreman experience required Strong knowledge of PEMB systems and erection techniques Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Valid driver’s license Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry 50–75 pounds Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions Ability to climb ladders and operate manlifts and equipment Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor for extended periods Preferred Certifications & Skills OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Crane signaling or rigging experience Forklift and aerial lift certifications First Aid / CPR certification Experience coordinating crane picks and steel setting operations Outdoor construction job sites with exposure to weather, noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Travel may be required depending on project locations.
