Cdl Driver/Laborer

Location: MPTN, PO Box 3008, Mashantucket, CT 06338, USA Under the direction of the Construction Foreman, the incumbent performs skilled and semi‑skilled tasks related to the maintenance of all Tribal‑owned roadways, grounds, equipment and facilities requiring the operation of several types of vehicles and general labor work. The incumbent must be able to safely operate dump trucks, street sweepers and all equipment over 26,000 pounds of gross vehicle weight, as well as tools such as chain saws, snow blowers, wood chippers, etc. Experience in utility trenchwork is required. High School diploma and/or GED desirable, plus a minimum of five years’ experience in the operation of the equipment listed above. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and provide a yearly DMV Certified Driving History. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required because the vehicles operated exceed 26,001 pounds. A valid medical card as required by the State of Connecticut DOT is also required. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is essential. Mandatory 24‑hour on‑call snow removal duty is required from November 1 to April 30, and the incumbent must report to work regardless of approved time off. For the remainder of the year, 24‑hour on‑call work status is required; exemption is granted only during pre‑approved leave. The employee will be regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles such as dust, and moderate to loud noise levels. Work will involve roadways and areas around power lines, gas, water, and sewer mains. The incumbent may be transferred into any division within the Public Works Department as needed or assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
