The ideal candidate takes Extreme Ownership of the estimating process, demonstrates Tenacity and Grit in pursuing thorough and precise results, fosters Esprit de Corps through collaborative relationships, leads with a Servant Leadership mindset, and brings Humor to keep our team grounded and positive even under pressure.Primary Responsibilities:Analyze blueprints, specifications, project plans, and requirements to fully understand project scope.Evaluate all factors affecting costs—materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, site conditions, and risks—with extreme ownership and attention to detail.Prepare detailed and accurate material takeoffs, labor estimates, and cost projections, reflecting high standards of craftsmanship.Build and maintain trust-based relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers through honest and respectful communication.Manage bid data, historical costs, and market trends to create competitive and realistic cost analyses.Present clear and professional estimates to management, clients, and project teams, making complex information understandable.Track and compile actual costs after project completion to improve future estimates, showing tenacity in continuous improvement.Collaborate with in-house craftsmen, project managers, and leadership to ensure estimates align with company values and client satisfaction.Foster a positive team culture by embracing humor, supporting colleagues, and practicing servant leadership.Qualifications and Skills:Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in residential custom homes, renovations, and/or historical restoration projects.Strong proficiency in mathematics, data analysis, and cost modeling; exceptional attention to detail and analytical mindset.Expertise in reading and interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.Advanced skills with estimating tools, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), database management, and industry-standard estimating software.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and present estimates persuasively to clients and stakeholders.Demonstrated Grit and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy under deadlines.Strong time management and organizational skills, with a proven track record of meeting commitments.Embodiment of our core values: Tenacity in seeing tasks through, Extreme Ownership of outcomes, Grit in overcoming challenges, Esprit de Corps in team unity, Servant Leadership in supporting others, and Humor to foster humility and joy.Experience in or enthusiasm for historical restoration and high-end custom construction is highly valued.If you are a detail-driven estimator who takes pride in delivering accurate, trustworthy numbers that enable beautiful, enduring projects—and you're ready to join a team that builds with excellence, and camaraderie—we'd love to hear from you.
