Peace of Mind Residential Care in Fredericksburg, VA is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. Responsibilities:

• Provide daily living assistance including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
• Support individuals with disabilities in achieving personal goals and maintaining independence
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
• Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and recreational outings
• Foster a safe, supportive, and positive residential environment
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and healthcare professionals
• Respond appropriately to behavioral challenges using approved crisis intervention techniques

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
