Sales Home Furnishing Consultant

In this position, you would beadvising and guiding customers- assistingin the selection of homefurnishings and accessoriesfor their homes.At AFW, we offer our customers a low pressure, professional shopping experience.

Asa Home Furnishings Consultant, you will use basic selling skills to guide the customer throughour showrooms; selecting furniture and home décor productshelpingthem create something fresh and new in their homes.

If offered the position, AFW will provideapaid trainingperiod forallHome Furnishings Consultants. Training is approximately 3-5 weeks.Additional details provided during the interview process.

Job Expectations & Duties

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Demonstratea customer-first mindsetandbeaccessible to ensureevery customer has a great shopping experience.
• Connect with customers by asking open-ended questions to assess needsand make relevant merchandise suggestions.
• Educate customers on our products, policies, and events.
• Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures.
• Capable of walking the show floor to ensure customers are being assisted.
• Speak knowledgeably and confidentlyto customers about styles, fit, fabrics,price,and trends inhome furnishings.
• Experienced in meeting high customerexpectations.
• Have a Do It Right theFirst-Timementality.
• Detail oriented with strong follow up and follow through skills.
• Possess excellent time management abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understand website navigationand point of sales systems to proactively leverage technology to facilitate the overallcustomer experience.

Job Requirements

• Willingness to learn about the industry, the products, and the customers
• Maintain a professional appearance and followthe dress guidelines.
• Attenddaily meetings and required training.
• Have a flexible scheduleand work all shifts, which include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Follow the guidelines set forth in theAFW Code of Conduct for Home Furnishings Consultants.
• Assist in the maintenance of the showroom including daily cleaning, vacuuming, and tagging.
• Adhere to the AFW asset protectionpolicies in helping to identify and prevent fraud.
• Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments tocontinuouslyimprove processes,maximizeefficiency,and exceed customer service expectations.
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies including tablets, iPads, and basic computer knowledge.
• Basic computer skills required.

Certificates & Licenses

Certifications and licenses related to business are preferred.

Education & Experience

Experience in retail or a sales-focused environment is preferred. High School Diploma. Two-year Business or Design degree preferred.

Compensation Package

• $17/Hour
• $22.74 draw rate - Commission pay structure. Up to $100,000/year in commission! Additional details available during the interview process.

Physical Demands

• Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
• Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 plus hours a day.

Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
