About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years ED RN experience required License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred Must-Have: 2 years ED RN experience required BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required Description: Join our dynamic Emergency Department team. We provide care for both pediatric and adult patients. Common diagnoses include COPD, CHF, chest pain, myocardial infarction, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled diabetes, and minor trauma. Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5, depending on acuity. General ED skill set is essential, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, ventilation management, chest tubes, and peripheral IV starts. You will be responsible for TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, and ESI assessments. Collaboration with CNA and charge nurse may occur, with potential patient assignments. Support staff includes a 24/7 hospitalist team and emergency department physician team. We utilize Epic for electronic medical records, Alaris for IV pumps, and Omnicell for medication dispensing. Telemonitoring is conducted both at the bedside and centrally. Floating to other facilities within the region is required based on operational needs. Every other weekend rotation is expected. Holidays are a commitment, with travelers required to work 75% of holidays. Request time off is approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays, and must be added to the end of the contract if hours cannot be met. Scrub color is navy.
