Job Description: Baptist Health is looking for a PRN Paramedic to join our EMS transport team at Baptist Health Floyd, 1850 State St, New Albany, IN! Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice.
- Initiate's action to alleviate patient's stress and discomfort.
- Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately.
- Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe for each patient encounter.
- Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
- Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
- Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
- Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery.
- Organizes workload so there is effective utilization of time and resources.
- Accurately completes required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
- Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet in order to operate smooth and safely.
- Assures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift as well as prior to each and every request for service.
- Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
- Active Paramedic license through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS).
- BLS certification.
- PALS & ACLS certifications issued by AHA or ARC.
- Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS).
- Valid driver's license.
