Are you a skilled handyman or maintenance technician looking for steady, full time work with a great team, strong pay, and excellent benefits? Honey Homes is hiring in Oak Brook and Chicago's western suburbs. This is a full time, W2 hourly job with paid benefits, not a gig, contract, or part time role. We keep you local: you'll work either on a dedicated territory of 40 to 50 homes near where you live or on our residential remodeling crew. No client hunting, no unpredictable schedules, no weekends. Just steady, well paid home repair and maintenance work close to home.

We serve over 4,000 homeowners across California, Texas, and Illinois, and we're growing fast, with real support from a Field Manager and a Member Success team behind you every day. There's real room to grow here: take courses from our General Contractor, with opportunities to move up to Senior Handyman and then to Field Trainer. We're offering a $1,000 sign on bonus for qualified candidates, paid out in full after you complete training and remain onboard for 30 days.

What You Get

Pay

• $35/hr, about $73,000 per year, plus equity in the business

• $1,000 sign on bonus, paid in full after training and 30 days onboard

• Mileage reimbursement for all local driving between jobs

Schedule

• Full time, 40 hours per week, steady residential work. No searching for clients.

• Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

• No evenings, no weekends, no on call, no required overtime

• Work close to home in a small western suburbs territory, not the whole Chicago area

What You'll Do

• Perform residential home repair, maintenance, and remodel work across multiple trades:

  • Carpentry: door installation, trim and molding, framing, dry rot repair, deck and fence repair

  • Painting and drywall: interior painting, drywall repair and patching, caulking

  • Plumbing: toilet repair, faucet replacement, valves, minor pipe repairs, clearing drains

  • Electrical: light fixture installation, outlets, switches, ceiling fans, thermostats, small wiring tasks

  • Smart home device installation and TV mounting

• Keep home systems and appliances on a preventive maintenance schedule for your route homes.

• Provide outstanding customer service and build strong relationships. You're in members' homes, and they need to trust you.

• Use our app to track jobs, tasks, and schedules.

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of hands on experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, carpenter, remodeler, or in another multi trade residential role.

• Skilled across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall, with strong troubleshooting ability. You can assess and fix most issues in a home on your own.

• Attention to detail and a customer friendly attitude. You're in members' homes and they need to trust you.

• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and your own tools.

• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work on ladders and overhead, and work in tight spaces such as attics and crawlspaces (with or without reasonable accommodation).

You do not need a contractor's, electrical, or plumbing license. Permitted work is handled separately.
